Newborn Photography In Amsterdam
They change every single day at this age — sometimes every hour (or at least it feels like it).
A photo is the only way to actually hold onto how small they were, once they're not small anymore.
With 16 years photographing newborns in Chicago— I’m now based in Amsterdam, and so excited to photograph this special season for both expat and Dutch families. This is the season I love photographing most — the scrunchy faces, the impossibly tiny fingers and toes, the way a two-week-old sleeps so soundly on their mama’s chest. I like to photograph newborns before they hit 14 days old, while they're still brand new and easily settled, but every session is baby-led…so I don't force sleep, I don't wake a baby up, and I'll never pose anyone in an unsafe or awkward position — if your baby wants to be awake and alert the whole time, that's the session we're having. And the photos will be precious no matter what.
Newborn photo shoots happen where you're most comfortable — at home. Most of my clients book while they're still pregnant, so if you're reading this with a bump and a due date circled on the calendar, you're right on time.
